COLD WEATHER is COMING!!!

Luella SUD has taken steps to prepare for winter weather, and with freezing temperatures expected in this week’s forecast, we are reminding customers to take steps now to prepare as well.

HERE IS SOME HELPFUL TIPS TO PREPARE FOR THE COLD.

1.Know where your water shut off is. In case you have a water leak, it is important to know where your cut off to the water is to be able to shut off the water.

2. Cover and insulate outdoor water faucets, pipes that are in the cold, and drafty places in the home. Make sure any water hoses are disconnected. Also, turn off sprinkler systems and make sure they are drained.

3. Drip faucets overnight. If the pipes in your home are prone to freezing or the temperture is significantly below freezing; it is recommended you run a slow stream of water out of your faucets. 

4. Keep sink cabinet doors open to let warmth in and close garage doors.

5. Cover exposed pipes with blankets or towels.
